I. Journey's Beginning

• Gather resources to build a house
• Craft a table, a chair, and a door for the GUIDE
• Gather ores to improve your equipment
• Craft a full set of armor with silver/tungsten
• Explore the underground, find and consume a maximum of 4 Life Crystals
• Collect Fallen Stars to craft Mana Crystals
• NURSE: Use your first Life Crystal
• BLOOD MOON: Use your first Life Crystal
• MERCHANT: Have 50 silver coins in your inventory
• DEMOLITIONIST: Have an explosive in your inventory
• DYE TRADER: Have a strange plant in your inventory
• STYLIST: Free the NPC trapped in a spiders nest
• ANGLER: Talk to the sleeping NPC in the ocean biome
• ARMS DEALER: Have at least one bullet or a bullet-firing gun in your inventory
• ZOOLOGIST: Have at least 10% of the Bestiary filled (53 entries)
• Build a house for every NPC
• Buy a Piggy Bank from the MERCHANT
• Craft a Grappling Hook
• Increase your maximum mana to 200
• Craft Spelunker Potions (illuminates nearby ores, gems, chests and other valuable objects)
• Upgrade your gear with gold/platinum
• KING SLIME: Spawns randomly during the day, or by summoning it with a Slime Crown
• Gear up for the boss (weapons, potions & armor)
• Increase your health points to 200 by using a fifth Life Crystal
• EYE OF CTHULHU: Spawns randomly when you have at least 200 HP and 3 town NPCs, or by summoning it with a Suspicious Looking Eye
• Repeat the battle to gather as much demonite as possible
• DRYAD: Defeat EYE OF CTHULHU

II. The Corruption

• PAINTER: Have at least 8 town NPCs
• GOLFER: Talk to him in the Underground Desert
• Craft Purification Powder or buy it from the DRYAD
• Destroy only two Shadow Orbs / Crimson Hearts to trigger meteorite crashes (preferably between midnight and dawn)
• Mine the meteorite and upgrade your gear
• GOBLIN ARMY: Spawns randomly during the day when you have destroyed at least one Shadow Orb and have at least 200 HP
• GOBLIN TINKERER: defeat the GOBLIN ARMY and find the lost NPC in the cavern layer
• Buy Rocket Boots from the GOBLIN TINKERER
• Upgrade your gear's rarity using the reforge option at the GOBLIN TINKERER
• Get some mobility equipment (Rocket Boots, Grappling Hooks, Mounts, etc.) and craft 101 torches
• THE TORCH GOD: Spawns in the Underground layer: prepare a large squared area a place 101 torches in it to trigger the event. Surviving the event will reward you with the Torch God's Favor.
• Prepare a large, flat area at the surface for the next boss fight
• Gear up for the boss (weapons, potions & armor)
• EATER OF WORLDS: Spawns when you destroy three Shadow Orbs
• TAVERNKEEP: Defeat EATER OF WORLDS and find the Unconscious Man (spawning in any layer of the world)
• Destroy more Shadow Orbs to farm the boss loot (and meteorites)
• Upgrade your gear with Demonite

III. The Dungeon

• Craft a Phaseblade
• Isolate the NPCs from the corruption by creating a 6-blocks wide trench around their houses
• Upgrade your Rocket Boots and the other accesories at Tinkerer's Workshop
• Prepare a large and flat area (124 blocks), summon sentries and place an Eternia Crystal Stand in the middle
• OLD ONE'S ARMY: Place an Eternia Crystal in the Eternia Crystal Stand and survive until wave 5
• Find a giant hive in the underground jungle
• QUEEN BEEQUEEN BEE: Destroy the Hive Larva to summon the boss
• WITCH DOCTOR: Defeat QUEEN BEEQUEEN BEE
• 🛡️ Gear up for the boss (weapons, potions & armor)
• SKELETRON: Talk to the Old Man at the dungeon entrance at night to summon the boss
• CLOTHIER: Defeat SKELETRON
• Explore the dungeon
• Open golden chests
• Obtain an Alchemy Table and a Bewitching Table
• MECHANIC: Find the NPC in the dungeon
• PARTY GIRL: Have at least 14 town NPCs

IV. Hell

• Craft an Obsidian Skull (20 obsidian) (immunizes against fire damage)
• Craft Obsidian Skin Potions (immunizes against lava damage)
• Go to Hell and gather hellstone ore
• Upgrade your gear with hellstone
• Explore Hell
• Open Shadow Chests
• OLD ONE'S ARMY: Reach wave 5 if you haven't already
• Prepare a large and flat area above the lava for the next boss fight
• Get a Voodoo Doll by killing Voodoo Demons
• 🛡️ Gear up for the boss (weapons, potions & armor)
• WALL OF FLESH: Throw a Voodoo Doll in the lava, then defeat the final pre-hardmode boss

V. Hardmode

• Defeat the WALL OF FLESH as many times as necessary to get the Pwnhammer and the Warrior Emblems
• Destroy the demon altars in the corruption with the Pwnhammer to spawn the hardmode ores
• Buy the Clentaminator and contain the corruption
• WIZARD: Talk to the NPC in the cavern layer
• Explore the underground and gather some cobalt/palladium
• Upgrade your gear and tools with cobalt/palladium
• Upgrade your gear and tools with mythril/orichalcum
• Upgrade your gear and tools with adamantite/titanium
• TAX COLLECTOR: Convert a Tortured Soul in Hell with Purification Powder
• Get a Gelatin Crystal in the Underground Hallow
• QUEEN SLIME: Summon the boss with a Gelatin Crystal in The Hallow
• Fish during the BLOOD MOON to summon BLOOD EEL and DREADNAUTILUS

VI. The Mechanical Terrors

• 🛡️ Gear up for the boss (weapons, potions & armor)
• THE DESTROYER: Summon the boss at night with a Mechanical Worm
• Repeat THE DESTROYER fight to gather hallowed bars
• STEAMPUNKER: Defeat any mechanical boss
• 🛡️ Gear up for the boss (weapons, potions & armor)
• SKELETRON PRIME: Summon the boss at night with a Mechanical Skull
• Upgrade your gear with hallowed bars
• Find some ranged weapons and craft some ammunition
• 🛡️ Gear up for the boss (weapons, potions & armor)
• THE TWINS: Summon the bosses at night with a Mechanical Eye
• Upgrade your Warrior Emblem to an Avenger Emblem
• Craft a pair of wings
• PIRATE INVASION: Occurs randomly after defeating the WALL OF FLESH
• PIRATE: Defeat the PIRATE INVASION

VII. The Green Inferno

• Find Life Fruits in the jungle and max out your HP
• Upgrade your gear with chlorophyte
• Improve your gear's rarity using the reforge option at the GOBLIN TINKERER
• Get back to the dungeon and defeat the hardmode monsters to get new items
• OLD ONE'S ARMY: Place an Eternia Crystal in the Eternia Crystal Stand and survive until wave 7
• 🛡️ Gear up for the boss (weapons, potions & armor)
• Find the PLANTERA bulb in the underground jungle
• PLANTERA: Destroy the bulb to summon the boss
• CYBORG: Defeat PLANTERA
• PRINCESS: Ensure that all NPCs (24) have a house
• FROST MOON: Trigger the event at night with a Naughty Present and survive until wave 15

Defeating PLANTERA slows biome spread by 50%

VIII. The Ritual

• 🛡️ Gear up for the boss (weapons, potions & armor)
• Find the temple entrance
• GOLEM: Summon the boss by placing a Lihzahrd Power Cell in the altar
• Get Solar Tablet Fragments (8) and craft a Solar Tablet
• SOLAR ECLIPSE: Trigger the event during daytime only by using a Solar Tablet
• MARTIAN MADNESS: Trigger the event by approaching a Martian Probe near the edges of the world
• PUMPKIN MOON: Trigger the event with a Pumpkin Moon Medallion and survive until wave 15
• Get biome keys and open the corresponding chests in the dungeon

IX. The King of the sea

• 🛡️ Gear up for the boss (weapons, potions & armor)
• OLD ONE'S ARMY: Place an Eternia Crystal in the Eternia Crystal Stand and survive until the boss
• BETSY: Defeat the boss after wave 7
• TRUFFLE: Make an artificial Mushroom biome with at least 200 Mushroom biome blocks (using Mushroom Grass Seeds) and build a house to attract the NPC
• Capture a Truffle Worm with a Bug Net
• Prepare a large area with multiple levels of platforms in the ocean biome
• DUKE FISHRON: Summon the boss by fishing in the ocean with a Truffle Worm as bait
• Defeat DUKE FISHRON to get his wings and powerful weapons

X. Journey's End

• 🛡️ Gear up for the bosses (weapons, potions & armor)
• Improve your gear's rarity using the reforge option at the GOBLIN TINKERER
• EMPRESS OF LIGHT: Summon the boss at night in The Hallow by killing a Prismatic Lacewing
• LUNATIC CULTIST: Summon the boss by killing the 4 cultists at the dungeon entrance
• LUNAR EVENTS: Defeat the LUNATIC CULTIST
• Destroy 3 of the 4 LUNAR EVENTS Celestial Pillars
• 🛡️ Gear up for the last time
• MOON LORD: Destroy the final Celestial Pillar to summon the final boss of Terraria
• Repeat the MOON LORD fight to obtain powerful weapons and luminite ores by summoning him with a Celestial Sigil
• Upgrade your gear with Nebula/Solar/Stardust/Vortex fragments
• THE END

Postgame

• Upgrade all accessories and craft a Cell Phone
• Craft the Drill Containment Unit
• Use the reforge option at the GOBLIN TINKERER to improve the rarity of your accessories
• Restart an adventure in Expert or Master difficulty
• Collect all boss trophies (30)
• Collect all monster banners (270)
• Build an armor collection with mannequins
• Spread your love of Terraria on the official forums, on Reddit or on Discord!

Seasonal Events

FROST LEGION: Happens during Christmas (15-31 December), triggered with a Snow Globe that can be found in monster's loot presents. Once defeated, SANTA CLAUS comes to town!
